Is 550W enough for a Q6600 / 8800GTS system? Or should I go 600W or 650W?

Thanks.

Depends also on the 12v rail on the PSU, not just the wattage.

GET A 850W SUPPLY. I HAVE A 1000W SUPPLY AND I HAVE A QUAD AND 8800 GTX AND ITS MORE THAN ENOUGH. SO YEAH 800-850W. THE MORE THE BETTER REALLY.

Its the "Antec True Power Trio TP3-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply with Three 12V Rails"

So it has three 12Vs. Will this be enough for a Q6600 and 8800GTX?

Hmmm... I assume there is around 16 to 18A on each rail then? If so, then that should be enough, unless your planning to SLi.

800W is just silly... you dont even need that for two GTX's.

GO HOME! (and stop shouting!)

Yes 18A on all 3. So is that good or would a 600 or 650 be better if I wanted room to grow?

The Trio has been known to explode (quite literally go up in flames) when all the voltage rails are fully loaded (not that a typical system draws over 550w). While it only happens in tortue load testers, it's an indication of build quality.

You should opt for the Corsair HX520W. Best maintsream PSU on the market, IMO, especially with the 5 year warranty.

Get an OCZ 600 or 700 watts or the Corsair 520 watt.
