Ps3 ethernet cable

Hey guys I have some ? I need answered just know i have a wireless connection already

1.) I want to connect my ps3 wired but my router is across the room sooo... I'm lost :cry:

2.) Would it be alright to buy a 100 ft ethernet cable and would I suffer from a lost of speed or anything

3.) Anything else I should know about?

I run a 50ft cable for my PC and PS3 before I got that one wireless. No problems whatsoever. Monoprice.com has cheap ethernet cables.
