A long time ago i had a crappy pc and i wanted to emulate some PS2 games, but they ran very very slowly!
My question is if there's some sort of recommended requirements for PS2 Emulation (using PCPSX2).
Thanks! :)

Glad to know! :)Well I think there is but I don't know what they are. Not very high though.
All I can say is that you definitely wouldnt have trouble now!

Emulation is a dodgy topic on this forum and often results in locked threads and moderations.
Emulation is actually very CPU intensive, since you pc has to pretend to be a different system.
A decent quad core is recommended for ps2/gamecube/xbox
Can we even discuss this?
Mess with the settings of that one, mentioned earlier ;) It's far from plug and play.
We've had double the power of PS2s for ages. :p I think the main problem here is that the PS2's architecture is so ass-backwards that it's hard to emulate (what with it having 3 different CPUs all at different clock speeds). OT: My modest $700 PC can run PCSX2 at or near 100% depending on the game. I'm running an FX-4100OC'd to 4.2 GHz/Radeon HD 6850/4 GB DDR31600. It doesn't take much to run it nowadays, but i'd look into Dolphin more, simply because it runs much better, unless you want to play something that was PS2 exclusive.admitting to using an emulator gets you reported for a mild offence.
anyway the requirements are you need to be about double what that gen of a console it. so you would need something double the quality of a ps2

Good luck with blob shadows but itll run great for you... depending on far they progressed with the emu.

emu requires sooooo much effort to get it running even mildly well, its o much easier to go and buy them second hand now :(
well u shud have the console to begin with and it needs to be modded to even dump the bios to usb unless you want to get it directly from nand... then again i am legit /notatallemu requires sooooo much effort to get it running even mildly well, its o much easier to go and buy them second hand now :(

you kinda want sandy bridge, and oc'd. Though i haven't used pcsx2 in forever, maybe it sucks less.JigglyWiggly_
I've heard that laptops such as my G74SX, (Sandy 2.0 GHz/GTX560m), run pcsx2 just fine. I've also heard that pcsx2 has easily goog lable guides if one should have issues with setting it up.
I heard this from someone, I trust immensely.

x7 Better hardware than the console you are trying to emulate
for perfect emulation.
Example: I tried emulate Wii with a beast PC , and I failed was getting like 15 frames per second

you are going to need a lot faster than x7.. if you calcualted megaflops on sega genesis and then on the minimum requirements for pc, you are looking at like 100-1000xPlease Log In to post.
