lol, that is the ugliest mouse i've ever seen. however, it does look comfy and will probably perform well too. i don't think i'd ever use 3200 dpi tho, and 100 dollars seems a bit too much. oh well, thats logitech for you. enjoy!

I never judge a mouse till I touch it.

But interchangable grip seem overkill.

BTW, MX518 > G5

First thought that came to my mind upon seeing it: "UGLY!!!" They at least unveiled it with two thumb buttons out of the box. However, that doesn't quite make up for the downright weird LED placement, and what appear to be the sensitivity buttons next to the LED set. What Logitech should have done was take the MX1000, make it wired(or Bluetooth if there won't be any lag), give it the 3200 DPI laser sensor and some huge Teflon or whatever pads underneath, and make the up/down rocker around the scroll wheel control the sensitivity. Now that would be my ideal mouse-tons of buttons, and precision tracking in ONE package! Oh well, I'll just stick to my 2005-era G5. It still works fine.

...I've used my friend's Asus gaming mouse for a bit (rebranded MX518 ) and found it not to be that comfortable. The +- buttons are located above and beneath the click wheel which is odd to me, and the mouse seems really light... and the material makes the mouse seem like a big piece of plastic...I'm probably just saying this because I've gotten used to my G5.

Newegg has a few more pictures of it

It reminds me a lot of that Creative Fatal1ty mouse lol.

And I to like the MX518 better than the G5.

yeah i'm not so sure about that, it looks way too wide (although the ysaid it was a special wide shell and it had others or something).

Honestly though, i own a mx518 and i dont really like it. The grip just isnt good at all, it's got some fake thumb groove with a ridge that makes it totally un-accomodating.

Frankly i'm leaning more towards the MX600 or the MX Revolution. They both have excellent grips and have as good as a performance as anything else offered right now (at this point if it's a laser mouse it probably has equiviable "performance" to anything else offered, all that differs are the bells and wistles and the grip in my mind).

I'm not even a fan of the G's, which probably perform just the same anyway also being laser mice, i just dont like their grips.
