Any ideas what the weakspot may be in my computer? Crysis warhead ran fine nearly maxed out but Crysis (I've tried all graphic settings, gamer, advanced, hardcore) and they all run about 5-20fps. I have the latest 11.2 ati drivers.

Spec:

ATI 4870x2 GPU

i5-750 @ 3.7ghz

4.0gb DDR3 RAM

Windows 7 Home Premium

Running at 1920x1200 res (24" monitor).

Thanks, any suggestions!

Have you tried renaming Crysis2Demo.exe to 3DMark06.exe or Crysis.exe?

You can locate Crysis2Demo.exe from (your drive letter):\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2 Demo\bin32\

Can you disable CF on a dual GPU card?

Googling 'Crysis 2 demo 4870' bring up a whole list of people having problems with CF 4870 (and CF scaling in general).

I don't have that problem. My two 5870s run the demo just fine, with an average of 60FPS with all settings maxed out.

If it's any indication of how a 460 performs, I get minimum 48, average 60 and maximum 86 @1440x900 on highest settings.

There is no sli/cf opimaztion in cysis 2, is most cases single cards are doing better then 2.

With my two 460's i was only getting 45-60 fps.

Well of course not. The HD 4870 and 4870x2 are "older" technology while as you have the new toys. I have another gaming PC that uses and HD 4870x2 and it hasn't been known to have good video drivers. In Crysis Warhead, @ 1920x1200, 4xAA, very high, high mixed settings, I never saw the FPS go over 35, EVER. Not surprising though. Just sayin'. From my experience, ATi drivers back then were pretty horrid for this card. But nowadays, ATI turned AMD is so much better with their drivers. So don't come at me and say AMD hater. I'm refering to this card specifically (HD 4870 and 4870x2) and their drivers, especially for Crysis.

As for the demo and these cards, I don't even know if they have support for GPU's that have dual cards like the 4870x2. We'll have to wait and see.

James, you should download the sli profile driver if you haven't already. You'll get 60fps without a hitch.

I never said or implied that you were an AMD hater.
