I can't find the XFX Radeon HD 4850 or 512MBAMD Athlon 64 X@ 5200 Brisbane 2.7GHz anywhere, I'm going to assume either they either sell out really fast or have been discontinued. What would be a good substitue for them?

I'm liking that orange case, does it come with the rails or do i have to buy them seperatley?

Been working on putting together my first computer, going on 4 hours. I got up to the part of hooking up my gpu and motherboard to the psu. All the other cables weren't so obvious for me. I know I have two case fans, my hdd, and dvd drive to hook up to my psu, and then I have to do some sata connections. I'm gonna go to sleep and continue tomorrow.

Thanks so much for putting together this step by step guide. This was my first time building a computer, following this guide and with your additional support I was finally able to get it all running. Can't thank you enough and all the others here who helped out along the way!

Phenomenal guide, thank you very much for all the effort into writing up all the steps. I'm planning to upgrade my CPU but I never did it before other then video card and memory swaps and I was little intimidated not to do it incorrectly or damage the CPU.

well, I built my rig. and I really didn't have too many problems. the processor was such a breeze too, I was relieved , except the heatsink mounting was a pain in the ass.

have Windows 7 ready to go too. biggest problem I had was getting the 5.25'' plate off for the DVD bay:lol: it was so sad on my part, but my case had such a confusing bezel. it doesn't come off like other cases, so I did plenty of useless net rummaging there.

just need to get some wires organized and tied appropriately and pick out a GPU in the coming months, and I'll be 100% good to go.

so thanks for the guide and advice General X, and thanks to the one poster who helped me with a better mobo alternative in my one thread.

Thanks! I tried looking for a combo with Win 7 - but it was mostly with Mobo's for $15 savings. I tried to reconfigure, but I already have my CPU with the Mobo in combo for a $30 saving, so I think I'm better off. It sucks because I bought Window 7 last year for my own PC and opted for 1 liscence vs. 3. The three liscence was like only $30 more, but I didn't think I needed it.

Anyway, at least it did encourage me to seek out other combo's - I found this OCZ PSU/RAM combo which shaves off about $5. It's basically the same as my previous RAM, so I went with the combo.

I'm happy too that I have 4 mail in rebates now equalling $55. I don't know the reply rate to those, but Sapphire, Asus and OCZ seem reputable enough. Damn you Newegg and your irresistable deals! I just need the final thumbs up from my sister before checking out.
