will games run good on this spec and how many years in till i gotto buy a new graphics card pc cost £680 iam on a budget Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor (2.5GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 4MB Cache)

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

6GB DDR2 memory

1TB hard drive

1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT220

Graphics card is bad, You'll want at least an ATI 4770/ Nvidia 9800GTX+/GTS 250

Yea, you want a better graphics card, I use a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM in my laptop. I have yet to run into any slow running or lagging in my games. It's a great card.

Your graphics card is the weakest link. If you have the money, try to get the ATI 5750HD or 5770HD. They've got great value-for-money pricing. They're around $130 and $160 respectively and are future-proof with DX11 support. They even perform better than the GTX250 and 9800GT. Google them if you want more info about the specs.

You don't need 6 gb of RAM. reduce that to 4.

get a gtx260 or if physx isn't a must to you, then get an ati card with dx 11 support

Well then just reduce your ram to 4 and get a 4800 series or 9800 series, they will do fine as long as games are still being made for current consoles. Which will be even longer than 3 years time... no worries! ;)
