I get PC Zone and PC Gamer, both UK mags, I find PCZ to be very funny and informative. But I think PC Gamer's reviews are slightly better. So it's up to you about what you want. I get both though, I like to see how they differ on review scores. My PCZ subscription costs me £12.45 every quarter and it costs £5.99 from the shops. PC Gamer is around about the same price.

Game informer is a decent magazine. I normally read the GIs, then I stick them into a pillowcase and use it as a weight.

I'm Australian, and I've only ever bought PCzone once. I found it quite well done.

I myself collect the Australian "PC Powerplay", which I find really good.

PC Gamer is great. Computer Gaming World is now Games For Windows the Magazine. I ended up getting a free 2 year subscription to that because i signed up for a 3 month trial of CGW and then it switched and I started getting free magazines of that for the past year and a half or so. It's alright. The reviews aren't that great and the hardware section is really lacking but they have some great previews every month.

im pretty much the same but i prefer Zones reviews. both great mags though and its nice to see different points of view.

i also love PCformat. it has more of a technical leaning than the other mags and sorta gives a wider view of things happening. its still pretty game focused though. Custom PC is also very good is u want to get down to the nitty gritty of the tech in PCs. this month they have a great article on the tech behind the latest graphics cards and the advantages + disadvantages they potentially bring. great for pub talk :P.

Come to think of it, PC Magazine is pretty nice, but it's not about gaming, but if your interested in PCs in general as well go for that it's worth it

God I hate PC Gamer. they hardly know a thing about hardware, they rate awful games highly, its a very short mag that costs $14 its full of ads etc. ugh. I buy PC PowerPlay an australian gaming mag thats not onl;y professional but fair to games and extremly funny. it has fewer ads too.

Great thread! I am looking to get some mags myself too. I've never heard of PCZone before, I guess I will give that a go. I could use more tho ;)

I wonder if there is a website online that has some kind of buy 2 subscriptions, get one free thing going? I remember seeing those a while back... that would be hot. If you can't choose, get em all!!!

Ok, here is the scoop. Buy 5 mags for $30 at this site. You can get PCGamer and Maximum PC with this package. There are a few other nice mags too, Car and Driver, Xbox Mag, the playstation one... Seems like a legit company too from the reviews I read on the site. I hope this helps. If anyone else finds any other deals, please share the knowledge!

Here's a good website to get some game mags from: http://www.futurenet.co.uk/futureonline/ it's where I get PC Zone and PC Gamer from. If you subscribe instead of buying from shops you save a lot of money and it ususally arrives early.

I'm getting PC Gamer, Maximum PC for the next 4 years, & PC Magazine for 5 years. All around $10 each, off eBay.

OMFG i hate Game Informer. I don't play console. I forget what article it was, but a few months before my subscription ended there was some article against PC Gaming & more biased towards consoles being superior or something. I'm very glad I no longer recieve that crappy magazine anymore.
