Never heard of that before but I just watched some YouTube videos. Looks interesting, but it's based on the Intel Atom processor so you aren't gonna run high end games on that...

While I like Razer, I have a feeling it's just PR for some new product.

They didn't need a full page ad in a newspaper to tell us something we already know.

Prepare to be disappointed. Not really keen on whatever it is, as I will be playing a faithful Deus Ex game instead.

It is time to stand up against shoddy console ports...LOL...are they freaking serious???The nerve on them to say such things...

Razer are the one who helps the shoddy console ports...they are making 3rd party products for those consoles
It is time to return to the original gaming platform. How can you say this when you are selling this :

How the heck does a X360 controller have to do with PC gamers getting console ports? They can still be used on PCs as far as I know I hear they suck. Most of their products are still PC stuff.

It's just Razer being Razer again, which is one of the reasons I like them. I'm curious to see what it is but I expect something not that great, like which companies they partnered with to make products based off of the Swtichblade concept design.

I feel they wouldn't say PC gaming is dead just to tell us about Razer Switchblade since the device has already be exposed to the public. Makes me wonder what they're going to do about Shoddy console ports or "dwindling exlcusives".

Razer making or publishing games? Would make sense for the words they used. We'll see in twenty minutes

That would be more then acceptable if the games are good and make use of our tech :D then again it could end up like Intels attempt with Project Offset and Larrabee.

So, they made a laptop. You know, I was expecting disappointment and that's exactly what I got. Razer I love you guys, but please just stick to making badass peripherals.

Although I do love the LCD keypad on the right. I guess this means they ditched the Switchblade conecpt after nobody signed on to mass produce them and just made a bigger one.

It's a $2799.99 laptop. Why would someone spend that much money on a system that cannot be upgraded? Yes, it might have great performance, but building a desktop PC with more power would be cheaper.

I was hoping Razer would actually announce something exciting, but I was right when I expected a flop.

Razer would of been better off developing/publishing titles to prove PC isn't dead instead of showing a $3k laptop that pretty much gives console gamers another reason to say PC is too expensive.

But but but, it's a super expensive gaming laptop that has a weaker GPU than other gaming laptops made by companies that aren't so into themselves to be a "pure" gaming designer (similar prices)....I don't see how it can't save PC gaming from mediocre ports and console games in general.

I called that one awhile back. I knew it was nothing.

No gamer woudl waste 3 grand on a laptop. They obviously have no idea who are PC gamers.

No SSD? Gamers who buy this have the money to slap down $2,800 for a gaming laptop, but don't want to shell out the extra couple hundred for an SSD that will make the thing boot faster, their games load faster, and battery last longer? Huh?

And for that money, the screen better be reeeally purdy...

I love my Razer Deathadder, my GF is happy with her Diamondback, I love using my Razer Onza controller.

This though, $3000, for a laptop.. Um no. Not even close.

Razer this is not really gonna do much but show you that you wasted a whole lot of money on it.

If I were going to buy a gaming laptop from someone besides ASUS and pay $3000 or more, I would buy a Falcon Northwest DRX though I would probably go with the top end video card (GF 580M and not the Quadro as I wouldn't be doing any developing on it) and more RAM and HD space.

So what is the deal with the touchpad? Seems like a big selling point but I don't see whats the big deal with it.

Three grand is a lot. I've got an Asus G72 and its been fine with every game I've tried. Maybe not everything maxed out, but way more than the bare minimum for every game I've played. It cost me an easy $1,000 at Best Buy

It's not really about the touch pad, it's not just that, it's more of a touch screen, which personally I see no reason for, I don't get who would care about game statistics enough to get their eyes off the actual game to check, might be cool for keys, putting an icon on one for various apps, but that's about it.

Ah sorry for my ignorance. *checks specs again Ahh, so i7 + NVIDIA GT555M.... very nice, and has the $$$ to reflect it. I see this keyboard isn't like the Switchblade though...this one just changes the section where the numbpad is?????

Its for people that play games like World of Warcraft where you can make your own Macros on that touchpad. its something like Optimus Maximus Keyboard where you can change each key on the keyboard to anything you like. Can't give you a link about Optimus Maximus Keyboard because Gamespot is messing up with the Link but try to google it. its pretty awsome keyboard.

The Razer Blade a full aluminum chassis laptop with 17" display and only a weight of 3kg, so its pretty light for a "gaming" laptop. The look doesnt look bad either IMO but with a price of almost 3000$ is what that will stop me to buy it. I don't know how long the battery is gonna last but with that touchpad and the spec. like most "gaming" laptop then I don't think it will last very long and one of the most importent thing is how long can you play games on it before it shut down because the laptop become too hot?
