Ahhhh good thread.
The funnest game I played recently has gotta be TF2 or Crysis. Just great great fun, both of 'em.
The funnest game of all time for me is either Portal or Dark Forces.
Hmm, there's a lot, but the one where I truly look over every single flaw of the game, and just play it for fun, is "Alien Shooter: Vengeance" - a crappy game but it's just FUN, I love it.ElArab
this is also my choice just a fun game where u sluaghter swarms of aliens
Very nice thread! I have no idea what game I found to stand out in the FUN category. But I do ask myself sometimes why I finished Fallout Tactics three times over.. and that's a strategy roleplay game!

You rock for choosing this. One of my favorite classics, as well; not enough people give it props.

Probably cuz there are too many damn star-wars games and only the good ones really shine out, but I guess they can still overshadow other ones.

Nah, Dark Forces is just highly underrated. It was underrated in its time, and now it's got both that and the fact that it's old working against it. Dark Forces was released around the same time as games like Doom 2, but it thoroughly kicks their asses in just about every aspect. What mainly annoys me is that people always give praise to Jedi Knight as a series like it all started with Jedi Knight, but the Jedi Knight series is in actuality the Dark Forces series.
Team Fortress 2 and Worms Armageddon are the most fun games I've ever played - but the key ingredient in any fun is friends. I can have fun playing Generic Tycoon if it's with friends.mfsa
ya, very true. I wanted to say my funnest game is WoW simply because my guild seems to share the same filthy sense of humor I do, but I figure I'd get crap for it.
Why just the other day we were talking about butt-dwelling parasites...

Woops, missed that, sorry. Yeah, you rock too, but that goes without saying, Bojangles.
Anyway, yeah, I just played through the game again a few months ago. The Kell Dragons used to scare the **** out of me since I was five and six years old when I played the game a lot back in the day. And you know what? They still scare the **** out of me. Those fat bastards could clear half a football field with their surprisingly long jumps. There's just something that always disturbed me about the 2D sprite of that vicious-looking thing suddenly taking up your whole screen and turning it red as it takes a big chomp out of you.
Diablo 2 back in its prime. There was something so satisfying about that game. I just couldn't stop leveling and releveling. GodLovesDead
it was definitely addictive. but sometimes it got tedius, and just my sheer want of that next level or item got me through the tedium. so for me, it was definitely fun for the most part, but it was also kind of a grind at times, especially in the earlier levels.

If I ever felt the tedium coming on, I just played music in the background and it was good to go.
Another game I feel like I should mention is Everquest. That game was the bomb. Too much fun.
The funest game i evered play would have to be oblivion with mods
beat game beat guilds download mods beat mods make new char repeat and neve rget bored and the funny thing is that i LOVE fps
When i read the question the first game that came into my head was Painkiller, simply becasue it's so nuts - i'm not sure i could go through the whole thing again, but the intensity of taking on about 100 enemies literally at once, coupled with the variety of weapons and crazy settings, was a lot of fun at the time
Probably my single moment of sheerest exhilaration though, was finally beating Xan in the single-player game of the original UT - still remember the score - 15-13 to me - i can't remember how many times it took me though...
1- Civilisation titles would take that spot. As to saying Civ II, or Civ III, or Civ IV...it is part of the journey, part of the progression, part of the fun. I would have to say Civ IV: Beyond the Sword, but, it just mean that I enjoy the lot of it, and naturally, I will pinpoint at the last part I enjoy in it; it doesn't mean, in anyway, that it is superior or inferior. To me, it is part of a whole. Galactic Civilisation games are mixed in here, impossible to tear them apart, yet, it is vastly positive for both side (no matter what they may think of each other).
2- Medieval Total War 1 is awesome as well. I don't play the real time part of the game, and I prefer the 1, to the sequels. :P But...SIMPLE IS GOOD. Yeah, I like deepness, challenge...but simple can be challenging and quite deep. Easy to start, hard to master would be the addage here...but Medieval 1 isn't hard too master...
3- City of Villains is doing well...I want MORE! And this, is a good sign. When I start posting ideas and stuff...well, I can't lie and pretend I don't like it! Easiest game to get in ever, and hardest too master. EverQuest is kinda like a tutorial to the MMOs now in my mind! *make a geek smile* Each, and every new MMO, would be compared to both...which is kinda funny, yesterday someone ask me why the Dominators are not good...my answer was simple: The Dominator is the only AT which is weaker than it EQ equivalent (enchanter). :P Gimma Powah!!!! Muah hahahaha muah ahaha! I really like to see my character becomes stronger, not a planar larva! RSF are cool challenges, even the rikti MS raid is kinda cool(although I select to avoid it), as I feel my character is progressing, advancing, developping...not stuck at Zone In afraid to even breath.
I actually agree with the people mentioning dark forces! lol i LOVED that game when i was a kid
other games i LOVE playing that are FUN:
SUPER METRIOD
HARVESTER
MORTAL KOMBAT 2
OBLIVION
