So many PC gamers play third person shooters with gamepads when mouse and keyboard is much more superior. I never found it that hard to make the adjust to M/KB when I started PC gaming many years ago. I don't consider myself some amazing PC player I just don't know why anybody would want to play with a gamepad when playing a third person shooter with a mouse is superior for aiming and keyboard isn't that difficult to adjust to. Games like the Arkham series feel great with M/KB so do all the GTA games that includes driving and flying. I can understand if you're playing a flying simulator or race simulator but the general AAA third person games are so easy with M/KB are people just not trying anymore?

cant speak for anyone else but controllers are more simple these days in my old age. im leaving the m/kb to the young people and the competitive co-op and multiplayer gamers.

If I am only playing against the computer, and with how simple the games are these days, the controller for a console is good enough.

Besides I can sit much more comfortable with a controller than kb/m

I play AC Origins with my controller, so did with Arkham Asylum, Shadow of Mordor - those games are third person action games, GTA5 I've played only with M/K because you need to aim mostly.

It's easier to play with controller because it's wireless and makes you play in more comfortable position with your hands in compared to M/K which forces you to reach out for them.

Aiming is better with mouse and keyboard but movement isn't.

Games like Dark Souls are a pain with mouse and keyboard.

I see what you're saying but for me I have a wireless mouse and I can lean my computer chair and it's pretty comfortable and I'm not over reaching.

For character movement, an analog stick is better than a keyboard. For aiming, the mouse is better than an analog stick. I use a controller for most third person games. I will even play some of the third person shooters like The Division with a controller becasue of the bullet sponge enemies that do not require quick aiming. However, I play Max Payne with M+KB. It all depends on the game.

@BassMan: Bullet sponge enemies? That is a new one for me. Poor hitboxes you mean?

If it is indeed a shooter then yeah K&M all day.

Games like Arkham are designed for controllers. There's no need for precision aim and great focus when you have the QTE for block. Might as well sit back and press Y when told to do so.

I'd say there's a right tool for the job, but these types of games are more preference (unlike FPS where K&M is the definitive right tool for the job).

Enemies that absorb a lot of damage like a sponge. This type of enemy will usually have a health bar visible and you can't even get a one hit kill with a head shot.

I play almost everything with a mouse and keyboard. So much simpler in most cases.

It depends on the game I'm playing. For Example I always play SAO, Nascar Heat 2, Sunset Overdrive, Ace Combat Assault Horizon, and Portal 2 with a controller but I play War Thunder, Hearts of Iron 4, Spore, Mount and Blade, and the like with a Mouse and Keyboard.
