next total war

what do you guys think the next total war is gonna be. im guessing its going to be in the 20th century since the game goes in order by time period. but i kind of which they would just skip that and go to straight to the 21st century. total war with a command and conquer generals type rts would be awesome.

I reckon the'll do either Civil War: Total War, or a WWI/WWII Total War

Modern Combat: Total War I'd buy it. Empire: TW on the other hand...I like America and all, I'm in the U.S. army, but American history? I'd rather force myself to play Farcry 2 until I enjoy it.

Caveman Combat fighting against dinosaurs...but really i think it might be either a remake of shogun total war ,a remake of rome total war or world war 1

well, after the expansion they probably will go back, maybe a remake of shogun or rome, but i'd guess it would be like japan + china. i don't think they can go much farther past empire in terms of timeperiod. also, they don't really go in order. medieval 1 was before rome.

Are you guy nut? How can you put >1000 troops on battlefield and make some line formation in the 20,21th century? I think World in conflict:total war. You move in the world map like a total war but fight a battle like WIC

Honestly I hope they go back to Shogun for a 2 or Remake on the next game, TotalWar's gameplay (not Campagin Map) just doesn't work with WWII or Modern Combat so I really doubt we'll see that.

Shogun 2 for sure. Ninjas, samurai, and kensei. Who doesn't want to see that?

They really can't go further than the 19th century.

I'm hoping for Rome Total War 2.

They'll do a Napoleon Era Expansion for Empire, then they will either remake Shogun or Rome. They won't venture into anything past WW1 EVER! The combat system doesn't work in those eras.

Aye, this will be the most likely situation.

Maybe Shogun + Rest of Asia. Indian Elephants and Mongol Horsemen with Chinese Cho Ko Nu and Korean HwaRang would be fun.

Would anyone else love a American civil war one? But I saw in last months PC gamer that a producer said that there was a lot of people on the team who loved little model tanks and he couldn't hold them back forever or something, I will have a look and see exactly what it said.

Ok it said that "we have some staff that have tiny joygasms over Tamiya and Trumpeter plastic tank kits, we wont be able to restrain them forever. It then went on about like how easily a modern one could be done etc and how the series has been building up to the present. And also to expect an expansion for empire. If there is an expansion it would be class to have like africa, new zealand etc.

*Edit* its a really good article about lots of prequels and sequels they predict will come out, based on previous interviews and other things etc.

So I suppose it'll be safe to say something along the lines of World in Conflict.

Rome 2, or Greece! Heck, I'd even like to see another medieval, but I guess it's too soon.

War Evolved: Total War

It will likely be Rome. It is by far the most popular, even given that Medieval II was a better game visually. I'm willing to put money on Rome II with a much refined and debugged Empire engine. With a navy element, Rome will be even better! Imagine Rome and Egypt clashing. Yay!
