Other than the fact that the GPU and CPU are kind of mismatched in my opinion, that laptop can still run any game on the market at 1080p 60 fps, if you're willing to tweak some settings.

I would guess that most games should run at the 1080p 60 fps threshold on medium to high settings depending on the game.

Just for comparison, this video card/cpu combination is sort of the minimum I would look for in a gaming laptop. and it's actually far cheaper than the one you bought:

The thing about laptops is, you can't upgrade anything other than the ram, and the hard drive typically. So you want to get one with as high powered of a GPU as possible.

A 6GB gtx 1060 would be the minimum, and a GTX 1070 would be even better.

@gamer4sp: You can get a 1050ti laptop for $800-1000. We can also help you get a lot more bang for your buck by building a pc.

128gb of storage isn't very much to be playing modern games with it's not uncommon for AAA games to need about 50gb of free space to download give or take.

Laptop aren't upgradable in 2 years when your 1050ti isn't playing games at the performance you want it to you'll need to buy a new one. If you had a desktop all you need to do is upgrade your gpu it's a lot cheaper than buying a whole new system.

If you owned it for less than 30 days you can probably return it and build a desktop, we'll help with the specs and questions etc.

@gamer4sp:

I'm going to second what Locus said, if there's still time to return it, do it.

Then let us know what stores you have around you, and if you're still set on a laptop, we can easily suggest something far more suited for a gamer.
