The Hard Drive is fine, and the DVD drive is fine.

I don't know much about Intel Motherboards, but in order to play the latest games with playable settings, you will need a new CPU, Video Card, and at least an additional 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Maybe someone with more knowledge of Motherboards that are capable with the Pentium 4 series can help you out.

So basically if your motherboard does not support any type of Dual Core CPU, you will probably need a new one. And if it does not support PCI-e Vidoe Cards, you will probably need a new one.

You might not need another motherboard. This page says you already have a PCI-E slot: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?docname=c00576002&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN That is good news, but that Pentium 4 is still going to hold you back. I'm not sure I'd recommend buying anything more than a 8600GT. And if you only have 1GB of RAM, i'd go ahead and move up to 2GB.

ALl of this is going to give you a decent system, probably one that would at least let you play Crysis on low at least. Although even that might be a chore. But games like World in Conflict, Bioshock, etc, should all run pretty well.
