Need suggestions on Lan RTS and FPS

I know it sounds kind of broad, but I just started playing lan games with the wife. Been playing Left for Dead series and C&C Generals Zero Hour. Other than the basics like Warcraft, Starcraft, etc. can anyone suggest any good lan RTS? She's on a laptop, so tech wise she can't play the newest games. What about FPS? Just throwing it out there to get some opinions. Thanks!

I'm not sure if your wife would be into them, and they are more fun with a bunch of people, but UT2k4, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2/3, DoW:Dark Crusade, Empre Earth, Battlefield 1942 have always been the main things of my LAN cafe all-nighters with friends and LAN parties.

My wife and I play the Warhammer 40,000 rts a lot. They are a lot of fun and with sales you can get them very very cheap.

CS 1.6 for FPS. No better fps game.

for RTS... Tib Sun, RA2, CoH, Sins of a Solar Empire, AoE 2, AoE 3.

If the laptop was good enough Shogun 2 would be an excellent choice.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Speaking of Battlefield, it made me think of the old Medal of Honor games. I played single player, but how was the multi on those? I think I might have them around here still.
