In the market for a new PC. I'm afraid I'm not well versed here & possess limited knowledge.

My requirements aren't too taxing:

A smooth Internet experience (full hd videos with ease).

Music/ video playback. (windows media player).

Microsoft office etc.

Don't need a blu-ray drive

Absolutly no gaming. (I do that on consoles).

£500 budget. I don't need the monitor.

I want my pc to slick & fast. Is SSD drive necessary.

I am willing to wait if something better will come in the future or wait for some new tech/ price drop.

I hear good things of chilliblast pc's & intel processors. Not sure about Dell anymore.

Please could you kindly refer me to what best suits my needs & will future proof my pc requirements for the next 10 years.

Just look for the best CPU you can find in a PC with 8GB of ram within your budget.

Yes I would like a desktop.

Does gpu really matter in my case?

I know Desktop's are becoming outdated tech...so when can I expect a large fall in price for this technology. 2014/15?

They're not out of date and there won't be a sudden drop in prices since they're already twice the value of laptops. No, gpu doesn't really matter to you, modern integrated (like intel HD4000) is more than enough for 1080p videos.
