I don't have the steam version so I can't say if it'll work for you, but Hot Pursuit had a patch that resolved problems it had running on multi core processors. You could try getting that patch and see if it works with the Steam version.guynamedbillyI tryed finding the patch but no luck any chance you know where to find it?
Before the FIRST race? If so you have to change the AFFINITY to 2 Cores on the executable.... (it has a bug with Quad Cores), let me know if you don't know how to do this....So i just gotNeed for Speed Hot Pursuit off steam and install it, It gave me that error so i reinstalled it yet no luck,

Before it even starting lol it just gives me that error Also how do you set the affinity to 2 cores on the executable? This fixed it for me... hope it helps: For multi-core users, change your processor affinity to 2. To do this, Run Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit then alt+tab out of the game. Right click NFS11.exe and set affinity to 2 (as in only choose Cores 0 and 1, untick 2 and 3) Let me know :)FelipeInsideOrignal exe ? shortcut exe or from task manager if from Task manager The game gives me the error before i can even change it.
