MSI Afterburner limits the fan speed to 70%. Why? How can i unlock it to allow 100%?

I'm trying to use the user-defined automatic mode, but even if i set it to go to 100% when it reaches 70 °C, it still only goes to 70%

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm assuming you're using one of the GTX 500 series card. If so, you have to download and update the BIOS on the card. You can get this updated BIOS from eVGA's site, or here: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=711688&mpage=1. That link was for the GTX 580. Just Google this: GTX [series model] unlocker.

Do you have a link to the GTX 460 SE 1 GB? (EVGA)

Sorry, but the SE version is not there. Anyone else knows a way to unlock the fan speeds (so i can use it at 100% instead of a limited 70%) for EVGA GTX 460 SE 1 GB?

There isn't one. Just create your own BIOS w/ the same clocks, voltage and increase the max fan speed, and decrease the minimum to w/e you'd like. Use NiBiTor or some software from TechPowerUp. It's easy.

Proceed w/ caution... But seriously, you should be fine. Just follow the instructions, or check out some posts from other users on other sites.
