Motherboard PCI E x 16 and graphics card interface PCI E 2. 0x 16 a bad idea?

Using a motherboard that only supports PCIE x 16 and a graphics card that interface is PCI-E 2.0 x 16 would there be a very significant difference in gaming if the motherboard being used supports PCIE 2.0 x 16 as far as graphics and performance is being concerned?

The difference is like 5%, or 1fps in crysis (if your average fps is 30 fps). Wait for pci 3.0 that should be out in 2010
