I was hoping for a prettied up version of Morrowind - you know, deep story, good game play, etc...
Phh...Oblivion was so dumbed down that it actually made me feel dumber as I played it. The game was awful, it was a horrible let down. Only good thing it had going for it was the pretty graphics - but I couldn't stand the NPC faces, they all looked fake and they all annoyed me....I wanted to kill them all!
On the flip side I do want to say that I have picked up a game that wasn't too hyped and I wasn't anticipating to be that great of a game, but after playing it I loved the story behind it. The graphics were decent, could have been better. The game play was pretty good, though the targeting system was a little touchy. And the game had some framerate issues....but it's not just how pretty a game looks to me, it's also how they story grabs you and makes you want to see how it all unfolds.
The game that I'm talking about is: Advent Rising. I keep hoping that a second and third part are made to complete the story....
IMO the level scalling absolutely killed the fun for me. I wont say it was a terrible game though. Even though I hated it, I can plainly see it is an absolutely huge and well made game. And it's obvious the reviewers and players alike love it. So I wont run around calling it garbage, I just hated the design descisions they made.
Yep, i agree with that. But its good so long as you mod the hell out of it.
