I have an I-inc 28 inch monitor which is a 1920x1200 and all the other monitors are 1920x1080. There is no compare between these 2. The 28 inch monitor is a monster and super nice for game but it is a cheap monitor that only cost $250 and has 800:1 Contrast, 3ms. Now if I build a game computer I'm wondering if this will give me a good game play. How important is a monitor compare to the CPU and Video card?

Why would you buy a 28-inch 1200p monitor?

You should have went with a 24-inch 1200p or 27 inch 1440p.

Have you ever play a game with a 28 inch monitor (1920x1200) because if you have you'll never go back to a 24 inch.

You misunderstood him. He's saying that if you buy a 28" monitors it should be higher resolution than 1920x1200. The preferred resolution for 27" through 30" monitors is 2560x1440 or 2560x1600.

if you are asking if the monitor changes game performance, then the answer is not really. Resolution will change performance 1920x1080 resolution will run faster than 1920x1200 by around 10% because there are 10% less pixels. More pixels = more render power needed, when you move up to even higher resolutions your GPU needs more RAM. You can always use your 1200 monitor at a lower resolution if it doesn't run great.

Yeah, I'm not clear on what the op means by "give me good game play".

I agree but when you have a 1920x1200 and then play on a 1920x1080 it's a very big difference. I don't know any 28 inch monitors that have a 1920x1200 anymore and if you can find one with a higher resolution just be prepare to enty your wallet.

$1000 is the absolute top of the price range for high resolution 27" monitors. They start around $400.

For a primary desktop display, there's really no reason why you should choose size over pixel density.

Yeah, for example. While I don't necessarily trust them myself there are other options as well. Heck, even my high end Dell 27" IPS u2711s didn't cost me $1000 each. I've seen some Samsungs for as low as the 400-500 range, and the LED version of my Dells are about 600.

28" IPS monitor? Nice! Are you an air traffic controller? I went with the BenQ XL2420T myself.
