Looking to upgrade video cards, but not sure where to begin.

Hey guys.

I bought my rig about 5-6 years ago, and at the time, it was a mean machine.  But I just got Rome 2, and it's finally starting to show it's age in a bad way.  It's also been giving me trouble with Planetside 2, although turning down the graphics didn't bug me as much until I started flying more.

Intel i7 CPU 870@2.93Ghz   2.67 GHz
8Gb Ram
NVidia GeForce GTX 460 SE

I'm looking at upgrade my video card- what would be a good recommendation that's compatible with my current rig, and would also garuantee I could play the next generation games with some degree of graphic depth- it doesn't necessarily have to be the newest and best.

Any input is good input, and I can provide additional info as needed.  Thanks guys!

Gtx 760 would be great upgrade path from a 3 year old 460. 760 will(probably) run all games at 1080 high settings in next 2 years

they already rebadged the 7xxx series as the 8xxx series for OEMs
