I am looking to replace my 22" Hanns-G monitor. i bought it at the time cause the price was pretty good and had received plenty of good user reviews on newegg (i now know those are not be trusted. after about 6 months i got a big old red vertical line near the center. VERY distracting while gaming and just plain ugly. i'm looking to replace this Hanns-G with a new 22" or 24" and use the Hanns-G as a 2nd monitor.

I'm thinking of getting either an Acer, Samsung or a Viewsonic. I'm leaning more towards the Acer brand since they are more modestly priced and i've heard good things. Samsung's have a good picture quality but i have heard of some display problems. I wanted to ask some people before i made any decisions. What monitor do you all have and do you recommend it?

Viewsonic has some very nice gaming displays, like the VX2265 [http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktop-monitors/lcd/x-series/vx2265wm-fuhzion-lcd.htm] or VX2262wm [http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktop-monitors/lcd/x-series/vx2262wm.htm]

I don't think he want to buy an expensive monitor and 60Hz it's enough and it's the standard.

Yeah 60hz is pretty damn smooth, 120hz is overkill. I wouldn't recommend Acer. Try getting a 16:9 monitor, its gaining more popularity and many laptops have swtiched to it.

Unbeatable price! Good quality. Not the top of the line bleeding edge, but the value here is amazing. Paying that price and then receiving the unit you'd think they should've charged you more.

The Samsung 2443BW I bought from newegg just arrived today. I won't be able to hook it up until I get home from work, but if it's anything like the other four Samsung LCD monitors I have it should be great.
