I just completed Fallout 3, and I had a blast with it. I had serious stability issues throughout the whole game, but it was still very enjoyable.

I'm looking for a new singleplayer game now, and I've been thinking about Mass Effect 1 and 2 (I haven't played either). I've heard Dragon Age: Origins is good as well. What do you guys think I should get? Please post why in addition to voting.

Well I'll start off by getting ME1, and if i enjoy it, I'll get ME2 later. I'll probably end up getting DA:O as well eventually, I'm just wondering what game to start with.

now this is just my speculation - Dragon Age's expansion, Awakening, will be released next month. it is likely that some digital distribution sites will put the original game on sales. so you might want to wait a bit and see how things go. as for ME1.... i don't think it can go any cheaper, so now it's a good time to pick it up.

Now that I've had a chance to get over the initial excitement of DA:O, neither it nor ME1 +2 are particularity awe inspiring. Both have some great points. DA:O for the writing, dialogue, companions and the ME series for faster paced combat and the cinematic feel. I'd say DA:O is overall the better product, but like Jinroh said maybe wait until next month and see if any bundle packs or sales pop up to try and increase item movement with the expansion pack coming out.

Honestly, they are both amazing games. i would say go for ME 2 and then wait for DA Goty edition to come out.

I agree. The only thing Dragon Age does better then Mass Effect is the conversations, it's more complex but you don't get to hear your character speak. Dragon Age suffers from major balance issues. I was going to pick it up again if they had released a new patch to fix some of them, but sadly they haven't...I might even pass on the Expansion if there is no word of fixes the balance issues. There could be a new mod that does it, but there wasn't any good ones when I last played.

Just out of curiosity, what balance issues are you referring to?

It's your desicion mate, both games are great, if you like space figts, aliens and guns then get ME 1&2, but if you like dragons and other fantasy creatures then get Dragon Age. So far I'm playing Dragon Age, and it's great

What do you want? Sci Fi 3rd person shooter action RPG. or A fantasy RPG that is a contemporary take on the Baldur's Gate formula. Both are great games, for different reasons despite both being RPGs.

Well, the votes are 50/50 now, but I'm leaning a bit toward ME1/2 so i can get the GOTY edition of DA:O later.

Thanks for the input.
