Looking for a good hack n slash rpg

Two of my all time favorite rpgs was Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1&2. I was hoping maybe there was a game someone could recommend that would duplicate that type of gameplay. Basically what would be best is a clone. I just can't seem to find anything. I am not afraid to play an old game either. Just I would prefer any games somewhere around 2004-present. PC ps2 or ps3. Thanks all in advance.

Path of Exile

It also happens to be free to play. And I found it more enjoyable than Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2.

Well I tried path of exile. It's ok. I'd like something with more of a story even it it means that I am railroaded through the game.

Does it have to be an RPG ? Theres some perfectly fine Hack n' Slash Games out there.... Infact they've slowly been trying to worm their way back to the sweet bossom of PC Gaming. :)

I'd check out Divine Divinity then.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance.. Torchlight 2... Diablo 3.. Come to mind.

@zfrank135: Yeah Dark Alliance kicked ass - so did the everquest versions for the PS2.

If you are looking for controller support for your PC hack and slash, I suggest trying out forced. It's more Arena style - but it's super fun playing locally with a friend.


TitanQuest is also one of my favroite ARPGS of all time - it's K/B & mouse only, though. The graphics really stand the test of time!

Grim Dawn is new or Early Access and is from the team that made Titan Quest. Have not tried it but plan to once it's done and on sale.

Why not play Diablo 3?

Hack and Slash? All ya need is Diablo 3 (Reaper of Souls!)
