Greetings.

I am looking for a certain type of game. Heres a few things im looking for

1. A game thats like total war series, except you get to build cities like in cities xl, and raise an army. Cities can be placed at will, they are not fixed on the map.

2. No loading screens in order to go from one land to the next. Everything real time, like one huge map.

3. The camera does not point straight at the ground like alot of rts games.

thanks.

Something like civilzations, except everything not compressed. Everything proportional in scale, and in a true 3d environment.

So a game thats like Total War but the cities are built like in Cities XL and the view can be changed. All this without any load times?

That doesnt exist yet.

Flight simulators are able to have whole worlds and cities without any loading screens. I am wondering if any empire building games have applied this to their game.

Have you looked at Sins of a Solar Empire?

Yes I have, although it only allows 8-9 factions in one game, and theres no city building. More of a rts conquest game than empire building.

Closest outside of the civ series is rise of nations. Old but still a great game

I think you might be expecting a little too much.

Yea, I don't think we are quite there yet.. Rise of Nations, like the above mentioned, is pretty close. I like civilization 5 a lot, but I have to be in a very patient mood to play it.

Unfortunately the Total War series is the closest to what you want. Civ lets you build cities anywhere you want but it the combat is extremely simplistic and it's not to scale. Sins of a Solar Empire is close on the combat side but like you said it has a limited number of factions.

yeah total war is close, the settlers is an option but doesn't have a very complex fighting side of things, i think shogun 2 would be about your closest bet, good luck
