I used to love flightsims, i mean LOVE flightsims back in the day.  I had perfect careers on Red Baron, Wing Commander, A-10 Tank Killer, etc.  I attribute this to the kind of joystick I was using:

Something like this:

When I switched to the bulkier, more realistic flightsticks, all my skills went down the shitter, and mouse-and-keyboard controls are super confusing to me.

Does anyone know of a brand small joystick similiar to this, but uses a USB port instead of the old serials?

Any info on this would be appreciated!  Do they still make joysticks like this for USB?

I had similar ones to those back in the late 80's. I switched to Thrustmasters during the early 90's. Then, I fell in love with the MS Sidewinder 3D Pro:

Alas, it used the old traditional joystick port. I used to have a usb-joystick port adapter like this:

But, MS dropped support for the Sidewinder 3D Pro altogether.

So now, my multipurpose joystick is this:

I'll eventually go back to a joystick/rudder pedal layout soon. There are some maneuvers that are best done with a set of rudder pedals.
