I am currently looking at a few models of TV's and I am thinking... which one would be better?

Panasonic or LG? (They are in the same price range) that's why these two companies....

Which company would be better to go with?

Both are 4K's and Smart. (No need of 3D)

I am willing to get PS4 Pro aswell later this month.

And I am not sure which one will be more durable... which one has more screen calibrations/options.

I had Samsung.... but it broke after a year or so... and current models... the prices "Blew" my mind..

THANKS!

@Matthew-first: You don't look at companies, you look at the model of the TV and decide.

What are the models?

Both brands are good, I'd go with LG.

EDIT: I hot they're both equal in specs and features - that's more important sometimes than brands - especially when both are equal in quality.

Both will have OLED models next year. That is when you want to be looking at those 2 brands.

Apart from one Samsung that fell to bits, I've always had Panasonic.

My friend still uses a Panasonic plasma, 12 years old and it still works perfectly.

....I don't want samsung again, after a whole year, suddenly it broke. My screen is gone for good, and my warranty is over aswell... it was just a 32 inch... and it was Full HD... I didn't need more at that time.

And I heard a lot good about panasonic having long life span...

but OLEDs next year? Hm... Dunno, is it starting in January? or December? That's a big difference. :P

I think I'll go with Panasonic... (Not 100% sure yet tho)

Matthew,

I had two Samsungs over the past 3 years. One was a 50" Samsung Plasma that I have gamed on by hooking my old Gaming PC and it's been lasting for 7 years now. The other one is a 60" Plasma that I have been using for the past 3 years hooked my to my HTPC, where I watch Blu-ray movies with my PS3 and my HTPC is also hooked with it where I do some gaming on it. I believe my 17" old Gaming Laptop also uses Samsung screen. I would recommend giving Samsung another try. I think they have the best picture quality/ price combination. Not sure what model you brought but my two Samsungs been working fine so far.

Also, I have a Samsung monitor for my Gaming PC too. With respect to my Panasonic I still have an old Panasonic CRT monitor that I have in my spare bedroom and it has a lasted for over 15 years. But looking at current Panasonic HDTVs vs Samsung, the picture quality of the Samsungs are better IMO.

I'm personally a Panasonic fan, and try to stick with them when possible... but of course, it depends on what you're willing to spend and the features you want.

I had a few Samsung TV's... 47" lasted 10 years. The Other 32 Inch is still in use (gave to my parents) and it like 6 years now...

But the NEWEST stuff... is kinda getting burnt/blown and so on.. tho If I can get a guarantee for 5 years Ill be okay.
The one I am looking at are not...

ALSO, I just found out that Sony Bravia has promotions... and it has Android TV which I think is really cool and has a lot of settings.
Plus the X reality...

I really dunno should I go with SONY??

@Matthew-first: Again, it is not about the brand, but the individual model. What I look for are models with low input lag first. Then, I narrow them down by which ones have the features I am looking for. By that point, I will be down to a few. Lastly, I compare reviews and price and make a decision.

The following link will help you find the best TVs for gaming (low input lag).

The input lag varies from mode to mode too, some can't do HDR in game mode etc

Oh yea, I did look at the lag first... then I realized they don't vary that much without HDR, but HDR will make it worse. So most probably i will need to turn the function off when playing? Anyway...

The model I am looking at the moment is KD49XD8305BU... And It's 30% off atm. In the Sony story it's about 1300 euros. Nows it's below 1k in the shop I will be buying it. And it comes with 5 year guarantee...

Thanks for the link! I saw they compare it as a decent for gaming and watching movies.

@Matthew-first: Samsung has the best input latency with hdr in game mode, at least the slightly better models have, my js8500 has 37ms with 4k 60hz 4:4:4 HDR(this is the mode you should especially care about if you plan on using it as pc display) and that's about as good as you can get, this years model ks8000 is around the same and is considered the best HDR gaming in terms of price/performance

based on rtings.com website it has in 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 : 35.3 ms...

Well, I think when it comes to input lag the stats look really good...

1080p @ 60Hz : 33.3 ms

1080p With Interpolation : 49.1 ms

1080p @ 60Hz Outside Game Mode : 49.0 ms

1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 : 33.3 ms

4k @ 60Hz : 35.3 ms

4k @ 60Hz + HDR : 33.2 ms

4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 + HDR : 33.2 ms

I'm new to this... :P What's the 4:4:4 anyway?

EDIT:
I just read that it supports some 10 Bit HDR, good for the PS4 Pro (which I am getting aswell later on.)
Might aswell use my laptop from time to time thru hdmi.

Thanks a lot. It has clarified a few things to me.
I guess I made the right choice, with that Sony TV. :)

THANKS to everyone.
