I don't know much about laptop GPUs so I need some help.

I know that the Radeon HD 5870 is better than the Geforce GT 330M, but how much better is it?

Of the following games, how close could each card get to maxing it (given 6GB DDR3 RAM and a Core-i7 @ 1.60Ghz):
- Crysis
- Mass Effect 2
- Fallout 3
- GTA4

Thanks in advance.

Ok let me break it down. 5870 takes a 330 kicks it up shoots it with a pistol, shotgun, rocket launcher, nuke, curbstomps its face light the rest of it on fire and throw it into the sun. Seriously a 330 might not even max all those games compared to a 5870 which could max them with power to spare.

It won't max any of those games, as its a laptop GPU.

I'm pretty sure it will max out ME2 and Fallout 3. I'll find the benchmarks.

according to benchmarks i have seen (done research for work where i sell laptops), the GT330 gets edged out by the 5650M, then along comes the 5730M and and stomps all over the GT 330 (scoring almost double?)

I can max Mass Effect 2 at 1280 x 720p and 1600x900p with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 roughly equal to desktop ATI Radeon HD 5770.

No where has the TC said, what the resolution is, and I'm not assuming anything with laptops, they all have different native resolutions. My current laptop has neither of those 2 resolutions you mentioned.

Here's more proof that the 5870M is faster than the GT330M.

5870 is 9th

330M is 58th

This. Its Basically the same chip with lower clock speeds. So you be the judge.

Well, my laptop is attached to a desktop Radeon HD 5770 (connected to ExpressCard 1.0 = PCI-Express X1) i.e. 3DMarks06 at default resolution yields about 10000 points i.e. about the same as ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850. It may break over 10000 points if I disable the HDMI audio features.
