You can have a laptop built for gaming. You won't run every game maxed, but you can have a comfortable, good experience on it. You do lose the portability factor a lot, so in the end you might as well get a desktop for gaming... ... But then again, many forget some people that are asking this may ALREADY HAVE a desktop... When getting a laptop for gaming, be sure not to get one with a too high of a resolution. Laptop video cards aren't as powerful, and many are ruined because the native resotluion is something like 1900x1200, and at that big of a screen they just can't keep up. I'm sure that 5730 can be enough for some good performance and eye candy, if your laptop is in the range of, for example, 1400x900.
Aiighty i went out and bought it and so far its excellent!
Ill give u the rundown of how two games performed on it.
Napoleon Total War- I can play it on the highest setings highest resolution smoothly just ssao turned off.
Crysis- This one was theholy grailfor me when i was buying a laptop. I can play it on a low resolution setting with everything set to very high except for shadows which is medium. Runs smoothly with a good fps. If the lowest it ever drops is 19 fps and typically it maintains around 35, sometimes goes up to 50. The graphics in that game are so good its unbelievable. I don't even notice the low rezolution. Im proud this laptop can run that. Doesn't even get that hot either.
