thanks for posting.
I don't know what to make of the gameplay, yet it seems to enter the fantastic.
Some of the cell-shading felt a bit obvious, yet overall it seems to be in a good ballpark.
I wonder what era/setting takes place...
Looks like a console platformer.
That's the PS4 trailer, hence it's designed for the controller. The devs have said that the PC version will control differently.
I remember being at a friends house way back in the early 90s and he had King's Quest 5 playing on his PC... it was the first game i had ever seen with voice acting and cd-rom before... it just blew my mind right there... almost right after that i got a PC with a cd-rom in it just to experience games with sounds and voices like this. It was ground breaking back than. Going from garbage nintendo sounding audio to mint quality voices in a game was so impressive.
But Kings Quest days for me are long and gone. Theres so many better things to do now then try to relive old point and click games with linear, confusing and vague gameplay. I did get Kings Quest 6 and its voices impressed me again, but after that it started to become a disappointment, I didn't like Kings Quest 7 and gave up on the series after that.
I never played Kings Quest 1-4, that was before my PC gaming days.
I'm not sure about that trailer.. is it a remake of the original or a brand new Kings quest game I wonder.

1 through 4 were really the "classic" KQ games before they became point and click adventure games. These were the ones where you had to type your commands in manually so there was a greater degree of problem solving rather than just rubbing every inventory item against everything else in each room. Still, KQ5 was still a very cool game for all the reasons you said, but it the also the beginning of the series taking a big departure from what it used to be.

Doesn't sound too interesting to me. I never played the originals, though, so the nostalgia effect isn't there for me.
