I'm glad to see it. The first game had issues, but when you consider the first Hitman game and how that series has developed, there is potential for the sequel to be a significant improvement.

Freedom fighters wasn't all that great, first of all it was way too short for its time. Anyway i would prefer a freedom fighters game but i doubt new gamers are gonna buy it.

Yeah I wanna see who's going to review it on Giantbomb. I played the demo of the first game. It wasn't terrible, just instantly forgettable. It better be Jeff that will be awesome.
I'm excited because the first was a good shooter with unique characters, setting and music. Too bad most people just ride the hate bandwagon and support one of the worst reviewers in earth.
The whole Gerstmann thing sucked, but it seems like the Giant Bomb crew is having a better time with their new gig now anyway. Maybe it was one of those "blessing in disguise" type things; it gave them a reason to go off and do their own thing, and frankly if it wasn't for whatever exactly happened there (and the fact that Gerstmann was more of a public figure than most game journalists since he was at the time the host of The Hotspot) their new site probably would not have got as much attention as fast as it did, as we all know the established things tend to reign supreme on the internet. Anyway, it was crappy and made me reevaluate my opinion of this site, but Jeff seems to have moved on, so there's no sense in dwelling on someone else's former problems. At any rate, regardless of my opinion of the editorial content of this site, which I'm not going to get into here since I've already digressed quite a bit, I like the forums here, despite the obnoxious bugs.
As far as the game itself, they are putting out a sequel to what was apparently a mediocre game that I never really paid much attention to anyway. Okay, whatever.

What went wrong in K&L Is that it did not really do anything, it was a 2 player 3rd person shooter with many objective focused missions isntead of killing or non linear gameplay like hitman. Shooting was fun in the beginning but later on it had nothing new to offer!! It focused even more in objectives than action and it was so linear. You be better off playing a conflict game desert storm because more or less K&L did not have cod4 compaign/story moments quality. What they need to do with kane and lynch 2 is to make it more conflict/freedom fighters like or make a cod4 compaign.
If Jeff had fear gas used on him this sequel would appear in his dream!!!biggest_loser
Oddly enough, I think on one of GB's "Bombcasts" (podcasts) he said something to the effect that it actually looks like it might be a much better game. Of course he sort of danced around the issue of what exactly happened regarding his review of the first game as usual, which I can only assume is because of some sort of legal agreement.

I played through the entire first game over a rental. I gave it a chance. That thing was beyond broken and just terrible. So many clunky mechanics and an overall lack of polish made the game feel cheap and rushed. As for this sequel? Going off of current impressions: BURN IT!

I didn't mind what I've played of the first game, it was pretty okay. The cover system was just plain broken though. I'll maybe get the second if they fix the cover system and improve it in general.
To be honest, I liked the first game. I was playing some "fragile alliance" yesterday. As for the cover system, it really wasn't that broken. I have had very few problems getting into and staying behind cover. So with that in mind, I'm looking forward to a sequel. They need to support the game a little better after launch and keep the multiplayer going longer though.
oh come on you guys, the first one didnt suck money balls that much, it's just that it STILL USES A CRAP ENGINE LIKE GLACIER and THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE PERSON ONLINE EVER ON GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE but i play it in LAN with my cousin and im telling you fragile alliance is good. I would be delighted with a sequel
The first game felt like a beta build(required more development time), but it wasn't a bad game at all. Potentially, I do hope the team nails it this time around for a fantastic experience.
