CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz Dual Core Processor - $120

Video Card - SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850 512MB - $125 (with promo code)

Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L Intel P45 ATX Motherboard - $95

RAM - CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory - $55

Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar 160GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive - $40

DVD Burner - LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model - $25

PSU - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply - $100

Case - Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $50

+Shipping and minus combo discounts = $630

This is like the 3rd buget build I've looked at in the past month or so. It's pretty much the best computer I could come up with for the price range. It also has $80 of mail in rebates, which would make it $550 afterwards.

If there is somthing you think should be changed, please post. Also, what kind of gaming performance do you think I could get out of this gaming machine at 1280x1024, or similar resolution? I have been using Crysis as a benchmark, as I think that would be be best way to tell how my performance will be in the future. If I could play on high DX9 with 2 or 4xaa, that would be great. Very high would be nice too, but I think I would have to sacrifice the AA.

Thanks for looking, and please post!

Nice build. Not realy anything you should change except the hdd, but I guess if you want you can get 160gb. I have a 500gb, and i used like 200 gb in the first two weeks, but that's just me lol.

Ya I think at that res he should max it or at least get real close with high/very high settings. Then high settings at 1680x1050.

Seeing as you're on a budget, I don't see you reusing that 650W Corsair in a future build. I'd suggest getting the 400W kind - $48 after 20% off promo code. It will power that 4850 fine.

Thanks for the input guys, and I should be fine with a 160Gb hard drive. I have an external one for backup, etc, so I don't think I really need any more space.

Would that 400w psu be enough for this build? It would be great if it was, as that would save a decent amount of cash. Although, if I got the 650w one, that should power a better video card if I wanted to upgrade in the future.

go with the 650w, corsair makes hefty power supplies, and that way it'll last you if you ever want to build in the future.

Ok, sounds good, I'll go with the 650w, as I do plan to upgrade in the future.

You can even max out Fallout 3 at that resolution with a stock 4850 btw. Happy gaming.
