Hey guys, I will admit that I haven't been up to date on the latest technology for PC components. I built my own computer a couple years ago. My friend's laptop hasn't been up to par with the games he likes to play. I just got him into BF3, and he'd like to play that, as well as the other latest games (and future games) on great settings.

Since I'm very outdated on what's good, and whats not, could you guys possibly list the components for the build for around or less than 800$?? Thanks!

Will you need monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and operating system included in the build?

My apologies, the only thing I'm looking for the internal hardware, case, and OS. The monitor and other input/outputs will be bought after.

That budget is kind of tight man. I would suggest to try to up to at least 1,000 - 1,200 if you can.

Here's what I came up with:

WD 500gb Hard Drive
Seasonic 620w Power Supply
Sapphire 7870 Video Card
Corsair Carbide 200R w/ Free DVD Drive
AsRock 970 Extreme3 Motherboard w/ Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS
AMD FX-8350 Processor w/ A-Data 8GB DDR3-1600 Memory

Grand total: 809.91

EDIT: Tweaked it a bit to add the 8350 and the 200R that MonsieurX picked.

Nah.. You can do a lot with $800 if only the tower and OS are needed.
