if you could spend a bit more or change a few things you could probably get a better gpu. $20 more and you can get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161404

Get a better graphics card, get at least a 760/670 or 7950. Change the hard drive to the new 1TB WD Blue (WD10EZEX). If you want to reduce the cost, to budget a better graphics card, change the CPU to a 3570K, motherboard to an MSI Z77 MPOWER and the memory to a 1600MHz kit. Changing to those components will make next to no impact on performance.

get an asus motherboard, it's better quality That motherboard is way too expensive for your budget, the memory is too expensive too Do you really need an expensive case like that, your psu is not bad, but i go something better And your gpu needs to be better especially with that budget I picked the parts for you (btw i have the same case i picked for you), should be around the same price http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_1491&products_id=23589 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_733&products_id=16318 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538_913&products_id=13931 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_354&products_id=17211 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1511&products_id=23996

Yes, stick with the case. 500R is much better than the Antec One Hundred. Instead of dropping to a mATX board, grab the MSI Z77 MPOWER and swap the CPU for a 3570K.

If you get the Z87 one, yes. If you want the Z77 MPOWER, change the CPU to a 3570K.

If you want to keep the case you have to buy this gpu then

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1372&products_id=22504

Yes everything will be compatible, I wouldn't be a very big help If I suggest you incompatible stuff now, do I? ;)

The powercolor version is not a normal 7870 , it's a crippled 7950(is a tahiti gpu chipset)  which is still faster than the normal 7870  (is a pitcairn gpu chipset) and better overclockable (it's like my sapphire 7870 xt). It's close to a gtx 760 in performance and at that price point , this is a smart buy.

That means also if you want to crossfire, you'll  need a 7870 xt (or that myst or joker) but you can also crossfire with a 7950 & 7970 but not with a 7870 or 7850  (which like it normally is, if they didn't screw up this naming system), but apart from the confusing naming system, at australian prices (apparently in Australia they don't realize the value yet of those 7870's) this is a steal.

I think you only have them on 3 pcb's

Sapphire 7870 xt

powercolor 7870 myst

club 3d 7870 jokercard (but the fan on this one isn't very good)

you can find a review of the 7870 myst edition here

Save money on the Mother board and Case and you can get your self a GTX 760 2GB.

  • ASUS Z87-C Motherboard
  • Corsair Carbide 300R Compact Gaming Case
  • Palit GeForce GTX 760 2GB

Comes down to $553 and your current case, mobo and GPU come down to $555. You save $3 and get double the GPU performance.

getting a good case is nice, but there is something wrong with the picture when it costs more than your graphics card. Swap out the graphics card and get a 7950. They are faster than 760's, according to firestrike and also have more video RAM plus a bigger bandwidth for high resolution gaming.
