Well, I heard it's (Dell) one of the best 22" out there, especially for the price.

Once you've lived with an IPS for a while, TN's just drive you insane. You don't notice things like the colors being different shades on different parts of the screen because you've never seen what a 'normal' one looks like.

Agreed. I had P-MVA before this NEC, and the difference betwen P-MVA and S-IPS is alredy pretty big. Not to mention what a difference is going from TN panel to S-IPS. TN is just "garbage" when you see some really good panel.

I don't think Dell or Samsung make glossy monitors. HP is the only company that makes quality glossy monitors from what I know. I would recommend actually looking at a Dell monitor before buying though. No one talks about it, but they put this anti-glare coating that makes everything grainy. Very noticeable when looking a whitespace, but it doesn't bother most people. The colors are amazing though, and you won't notice if you play games.

My monitor sucks. I have to use low quality wallpapers, because if I use high quality, it shows the gradient outline for each color.

HP only??? I know at least 1 more. NEC. NEC 20WGX2 Pro whit glossy panel is probably the best gaming LCD out there in 20-22" LCD range.

Does anyone know if Dell makes a 24" LCD wit an S-IPS panel? I know they make the 20", but I've decided to save for a 24". Right now I'm leaning toward the 2407.

Oh yeah, forgot about NEC, but I tend to forget about them cause NEC is a pricey name-brand. But no, Dell does not make glossy monitors, and you should make sure your Samsung is before considering it cause I don't think Samsung monitors are glossy either.

I know the 2407 wfp is NOT, but the new 2407-HC version might be. Expect to pay alot for a 24" that has an S-IPS panel, as most of them don't have that panel cause it raises the cost significantly.

It's not an IPS either. I think the 30" widescreen Dell is IPS and uses the same panel as the Apple 30", though.
