Well it hasn't been announced but quite a few people on this forum want to see it on PC. I made a thread not that long ago asking...
Just wait a little while and maybe they will port it like they did with number 4!

Port? Not needed. The PC is Resident Evil 5's main development platform :) Who knows if that equates to a released PC version, I personally think that's a strong indication we'll see one though.
It's the GTA4 thing all over again - the game hasn't been announced, so, officially, no. Not at the moment, anyway.
But. Capcom has been showing some serious PC love recently, and Resident Evil one, two, three and four have all been released for PC. Why would they stop now - especially considering their other PC releases recently?
My guess is a definite yes, but obviously some time after the consoles get their fill. My hope is that it's a built-for-PC version rather than a port. The PC version of RE4 was a straight port of the PS2 version, meaning it looked awful (worse even than the GC version) and of course had awful controls.
I'd say you should get ready to start counting the days, because there's nothing to suggest there won't be a PC version... but considering how the PC version of Resident Evil 4 came two years after the original GC version, you'll probably need to mark its release on your 2010 calendar.
Is the guy in the trailer still Leon, or is he a new guy?Kuyt19

So that means Leon is from 2 and 4? I can't play the first three games. I can't stand the 'no mouse support' problem. Man, Leon could've been badass if it wasn't for that girly hairstyle. lol.....i was secretly hoping the guy on RE5 was him with a new hair....oh well.

The RE games have quite an expansive storyline with a lot of characters. Resident Evil 4 was a spinoff of sorts - Resident Evil 5 is an actual sequel to the RE1-3 storyline (featuring other characters from the RE canon). Although Resident Evil 5 seems to have most of the same gameplay mechanics as 4, it's made by a separate studio and they're very much trying to make their own game.
If you don't want to play the games (your loss, man, RE2 is a masterpiece), you might want to think about reading the story synopses on wikipedia to at least familiarise yourself with the world and especially the characters.

Its been a while, but if i remember correctly. There were two characters you could play as in RE2, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
Do the games have any similarity to the films except for zombies and Umbrella? I've never heard of Alice being in the games. Man, i hate these movie adaptations, they ruin everything.Kuyt19
Paul W S Anderson is not a writer, and he is not a director. He is a butcher.
The RE films are more like original stories in the RE universe very loosely based on the games, rather than actual RE films.
The same thing happened with the Silent Hill film, too. Pssch, filmmakers.

I agree with you 100%! Paul W.S. Anderson, Mark Steven Johnson and Uwe Boll should be banned from ever touching another game or comic license. Paul W.S. Anderson was also one of the producers on the DOA: Dead or Alive flick. And what's next for this "brilliant" medium? Castlevania, as producer and writer!
But anyway, let's hope RE5 comes to PC. Fingers crossed!
RE4 was an absolute disgrace, the gamecube had better graphics, so I don't expect much with RE5.couly
Well, let's hope it'll be different with RE5. Their Lost Planet port was not bad though, and with Capcom's effort of bringing some their console games to the PC(Devil May Cry 4, Street Fighter 4),there is hope for a properly done port of RE5.
