I thought it was fantastic. I agree with Oni about the ending. It could have easily been another few hours long. The gameplay was really simple (nonexistent) but it more than made up for it in personality.
The game is good but the ending of the game is unfinished or something and hopefully they will have Dreamfall 2 to finish the story. The start is slow but later you get hooked as you play more.
I literally JUST finished the game! I strongly recommend it if you like a good story, and playing the first one isn't really needed at all to know whats happening. Really there isnt much action or that many puzzles but it makes you think at times. In any case, its all about the story... What they say about the end is true though. Its not that its a "bad" ending but it just leaves waiting for a sequel, and it kinda sad too but thats just IMO.
I think the game was ok i never finished it i just played it cause the chick looked hot ( if u have the game on max setting if not she looks like **** But im sure if you are an adventure fan you wont be disappointed.
i was thinking about picking it up but i never played the first. Sounds like you really dont need to have played the first, but i always heard that the original was one of the best pc games of all time.
the first game is called the longest journey, story about april n how she used her powers. it was indeed one of the best adventure games eva made.. dreamfall is the 2nd title in the trilogy so the cliffhanger ending is definitely going to b hanging.. watch out 4 a peek preview at the end of the credits..

First of all IMO ... first game may not run on X/P as i've tried it . Seacond , the first games controls is full point n click not free movement .
I'm not saying the first game is bad , i mean OP can enjoy Dreamfall more for its free movement controls .

The Longest Journey runs just fine on XP, if you're having troubles it might be unique to your system. However there are no conflicts when trying to run The Longest Journey on XP, and I as well as a few friends have installed and played it just fine.
Yeah, Dreamfall if a good game. It's better if you've played The Longest Journey however, as you get a much better appreciation for the characters and setting than you would on just Dreamfall alone. However you can play Dreamfall as a standalone if you want. Personally I still think The Longest Journey is better than Dreamfall and I find April Ryan is much more interesting as a character than Zoe. Still, it's up to you.
Is Dreamfall any good? Only if you like to watch a 9 hour movie, where most of the time is spent walking around and without an ending, then you might like it But if you're like me, who wants to be challenged in games, then this is not the right game for you. Barbie games are probably more challenging than Dreamfall. There are almost no puzzles in this game (only the lock puzzle, which you get to try several times during the game) The Longest Journey is better than Dreamfall in every possible way, except graphics. My advise is for you to get The Longest Journey instead
Dreamfall was a good game.. though as mentioned, the ending is so horrible as to gouge your eyes out. You won't see the ending coming when it does happen, at least, so I'm not really ruining anything for you.
"Games are not art, at least not yet. But there is art in games." Dreamfall is beautifully crafted. Treat it as what it is though an interactive story rather than a computer game.
