Installing new graphics card..

I have an ati x700 card at the moment. Later today im getting an ati x1600...how would i go about installing? Do i need to uninstall my x700 or just slap in my x1600 and just download drivers? Thanks for help

1. Uninstall drivers from control panel (or use Driver Cleaner Pro) 2. Restart system for changes to take effect (don't install ATI drivers if it asks) 3. Shut down system 4. Remove X700 and replace with X1600 5. Start system (follow intructions for your card in booklet)

if it's ATI to ATI, you can just take out the card then put the new one in.

I always do a reformat when installing new hardware... my brother also says I'm way to anal.

That's what should happen but even ATI recommend uninstalling first, regardless of if it's a new card or not.
