So I have a X58 motherboard with a i7 920 in it, I had bought some RAM for it (3x2GB DDR3 1066 RAM sticks)

the thing is, I actually thought this Dell I had, had a 3x2 GB DDR3 ram configuration for some reason(stupid me) (before upgrade I had 6 GB of ram total), but it is actually 6x1 GB ram sticks in a triple channel configuration using up all 6 RAM slots

So I took out 3x1GB ram sticks, and put 3x2 GB RAM sticks in place and now I have total of 9GB of RAM (I had bought Crucial RAM that ran at 1366 mhz but since my x58 board only goes up to 1066 mhz on the RAM side, it downclocked automatically) I ran the test on Crucials website and it says it is compatible with my Dell 435 Studio MT with the x58 Mobo I have inside so

I have all 6 memory lanes populated with RAM sticks..

but my question is , do I lose the triple channel memory now? even though I have different memory kits inside my computer? CPU-Z is reporting my RAM is in a triple memory channel format, is that entirely accurate?

Okay awesome thanks, I had read somewhere that my performance would suffer since I am using 3x1 1 GB RAM sticks mixed with 3x2 2 GB RAM sticks? Since it is running in triple memory channel mode then, it should be fine am right

As long as the same rams are paired in the right slots it should be good. Double triple channel(?).
THats how it is for dual channel with 4 sticks for me.

Knicks fan I see. You can come cry with me as a Lakers fan T.T (though I am also Clippers fan).

If CPU-Z says so, it's probably so. I wouldn't expect a very noticeable performance boost from having that feature enabled, but I'd imagine it's slightly faster in a few circumstances.
