So I'm starting my first semester of college tomorrow, and I would like a computer. I have always played video games but only on consoles because my family always buys poor computers. Since I have an actual excuse to ask for money from my parents for a computer, I was thinking I'd build my own because I know how much you can save when you build your own.
The problem is, I'm not handy at all. I've never even really touched a computer other than to press the power button. I know little to nothing about parts, drivers, and operating systems. This is why I came here.
Buying a pre built computer isn't out of the question. I just want to know if I should embark upon the journey of building my own desktop, or if I should just buy one.
If you do suggest I build one, can you give me an idea for a computer around $600-$700? And if you suggest I buy one, how much should I spend?
It's important to know what games I play, I never really play the CoD games. I find realistic shooters boring, I'm really interested in overwatch, and RPGS. So what kind of money would I need to spend to run those games at a smooth rate on high settings? I don't need perfection, but I want it to look nice. Thanks!
