I have less then $1000 to spend (probably should try to get in under $900, and that includes the cost of the video card) and want a computer that can play just about any recently released game decently.  Any advice on what specs I should go for and such?

Nope I already have a monitor and my stepdad works with computers so can easily get me a copy of Vista when is becomes stable.
