I've seen iBuyPower PCs with nice specs at a decent price. Anyone buy from them? How are their PCs in terms of reliability and overall quality?

Their Quality and Reliability are poor, sure there are people who never had problems with them, but there's a lot more people who DID have problems with them.

My recommendation,Build it yourself or even get AVADirect.

QFT, building it yourself is your best option if you're willing to learn (its not too hard). But if you must get a prebuilt, AVA Direct is usually considered best.

if costco offers it...try it if it comes with a 2 year warranty..the only gripes ive heard with the company are that their shipping takes forever and that sometimes there are problems with the build (mainly fans not being connected to the psu)

Quite the opposite for me- I found most reported complaints to be hearsay from reporting the same prob over and over. I have bought more than 20 custom units.. the parts that come are retail boxed and name brand if ordered that way.. the assembly is ok but as with all shipping just check connections and note box damage. I've read 70-80 complaints but compared to the tens of thousands sold over the years it seems the same to me like any other maker. Dell and HP even have websites for refurbed and scratch and dent... IBUYPOWER does NOT> So in fair defense I did have one that did go back as shipment damage but that is about it with two service phone calls cuz I (NOTEI) messed with the bios Sure I pay a bit more than putting it together myself from parts.. but hey- My time is more valuable to me.

If you can get it through Costco then by all means go for it. Costco has a no nonsense, no BS return policy. I used to work for Costco and you can order the computer online, if anything is wrong, ANYTHING hell even if you just don't want it. Take it to the nearest Costco store and return it. Money given back plus tax, no questions asked.

Even if IBUYPOWER truley does have a bad number of shipping PCs, you can't go wrong with the return policy offered by Costco to their members.

Also, the Tech support offered by Costco is actually pretty decent.

I bought my first gaming computer from ibuypower about 3 years ago. It arrived on time and everything was in working condition. I did note that they tend to use cheaper parts that don't tend to have as high of quality as a good name brand part can offer.

If you do get a chance to upgrade certain parts (memory, GPU, PSU) and it's a good name brand item, you're going to be paying quite a bit extra mark up for the better items.

My first HDD that came with my computer crashed after 6 months. Two phone calls later I had a new HDD on the way with a RMA inside the box - I just swapped my crashed HDD for the new one and sent it back in the same box. It was pretty much a no hassle process.

The tech department on the other hand...they're as dumb as rocks (at least the two guys I talked with). They didn't know their head from a hole in the ground. If you were to buy directly from ibuypower, I'd want to forewarn you that you want to know some basic/mediocre knowledge of computers and how they go together, just in case something isn't connected right.

If you're buying from Costco...as others have posted, they have a good return policy. It wouldn't hurt to go through them, as it would seem from other posters.

I've purchased a PC from cyberpower, no issues, had it for a year and I love it.

If you look at the rating of IbuyPower and Cyberpower it's still WAYYY higher than Dell.

If you had to buy one it would either be from those two.
