I'm getting 45-55c on idle and 77c on full load is this safe? I don't have the money to upgrade to a better CPU cooler until next month. Since my GPU died I'm not using my pc for gaming or anything stressful so it doesn't get too hot. when multi tasking browsing the internet/music/videos/messenger the max temperature I got was 57c. Can i leave it like this for now or should i upgrade to a better cooler as soon as possible?

Shouldn't be getting to those temps in a 1200... Is there dust build up anywhere? Is the heatsink correctly seated?

no there isn't any dust. I have been searching on google and I see a lot of people have this problem and getting even higher temps but it seems that it's the stock Intel cooler. what would be a good cooler under $35?

The stock cooler on the 870 is a piece of garbage. Get an aftermarket one.

I think the 212+ may be a bit better. Note, the 212+ supports dual fan, that would make it a monster.
