I have always wanted to play Crysis since I first head about it. Only problem was never had a comp that could even near handle it. I got a new laptop as a gift yet its still not there I think

4gig RAm, Nvidia 8800 GTS, 320 HD, 1.83 duo.

Its the 1.83 thats low. Can I play Crisis at all? I dont care if its sometimes a little slow but could I play it comfortably enough to have an enjoyable experience? I want to play so bad

Edit: This is slightly off-topic for PC games since you're asking about your gaming rig. You should ask this in the PC Hardware Discussion. A message from the mods.

You should be fine like ^^^ said, just don't thinl your going to max it out. You should be able to pull off mostly high settings with 0AA and a decent resolution.

Should be able to still run it man, not everything on max, but most things on high would probably work.

Who cares about the CPU. It's ALL about the GPU (grafics card). With a 8800 GTS you'll **** fire. So take it cool 8).

That isn't true at all. CPU plays the 2nd largest role and it's not all too pretty when a CPU is bottlenecking a GPU.

Crysis will run nicely on high settings on a good resolution. You shouldn't have a problem.

Also, you should try the demo out before buying it.

My laptop (2.2 Duo, 2gb ram, 7900GTX) can run crysis on medium settings with no AA fine. So you should be able to go medium to high man, dont stress just try it.

Ah, my rig has better specs then that, how do you get such good FPS at maxed settings? Are you using 0AA and like 800x600 res?

Slow CPUs effect AI and physics. You can turn physics down (I have mine on medium, still awesome) but as for AI, well thats the bummer. My processor is fairly slow (2.13GHz iirc) as well and when there is a small group of Koreans it runs fine, but towards the end when there are lots of aliens all over the place (in addition to the GPU-intensive visuals with the frost and stuff) it tends to slow down.

You should be fine, tho.

You'll be absolutely fine. I run the game at medium, couple settings on high, 1024x768, no AA on my system, and it's below yours in every way (including processor).

Hm. I never had that problem. Things slow down if I spawn in a whole bunch of AI in the editor, but I've never had slowdown from AI in the main game at any point. I'm assuming yours is C2D, so it's way more powerful than mine.

idunno it could be my GPU...it only slows down when I look at the NPCs. Actually nvm on the processor part, that has to be my GPU
