I have a Compaq desktop with an AMD Athlon 2 II X2 240 Processor running at 2.8 GHz, 3GB RAM, and Windows 7 64bit. If I installed a Sapphire Radeon HD 5570, first of all, would it run, and second of all, how well would it play a game like Black Ops?

bah medium - high (varying on resolution) and you have more than enough space.. thats an am3 dual core cpu.. grow up ppl your all living in caves i swear..
a pentium D wont bottleneck an hd 4670 or 5570 i dont see why a modern dual core would..
How the hell is that a Bottleneck? That term is thrown around wayy to much. Anyway blackops should run Fine on medium. Your mileage may vary, it was a poorly made gamegmaster456
Well the GPU is a bottleneck, its a piece of junk, get something like a 5770 atleast.

there's a difference between a weak video card and a Bottleneck.[QUOTE="WARLOCK234"]

i had a pentium D and a 4670 in the same room once.. i never saw a bottleneck in any of the 6+ games i was playing on them (css, hl2, painkiller, dow2, rainbow 6 vegas, bioshock) my preformance did jump when i went core 2 duo but the pentium D is a bad chip to begin with so it can be expected (that and it flatlined shortly afterword when it burn out a mobo during a build in which i reused it) so it was on its last legs anyway.
but was there a bottleneck.. no sorry i didnt see one and im not buying it if there was.. a bottleneck is a veyr loose term folks throw around it really only applies when really archaic of base tech meets really advanced tech.
for example a pentium III with an hd 4870, or a sempron am2/am2+ with an hd 5770
a 4670 and 5570 are nearly identical so i dont buy the idea of it bottlenecking on a cpu released around the same time as the card was any more than i do the idea of a core i7 980x being "slow"
you will be good for all games except maybe RTS games like starcraft 2. I'd spend more to get a 5670 instead of the 5570 though. It should work with the psu you have and the performance gain for the extra $10 is well worth it.
I picked up an ATI Radeoon HD 4550 from Best Buy for $60. It runs TF2 on my computer at an average of 80fps getting up to 150fps with all settings on high and resolution at 1024x768. This card doesn't play other games very well, though. If I returned this for the Saphire Radeon HD 5570, would I see an even better graphics boost?
Normally I shop on Amazon, but it was $1 cheaper at Best Buy so I picked it. Would you recommend returning it and going for the 5570? And how is this price: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-HD-5570-PCI-Express/dp/tags-on-product/B0036ORMYO

You serious lol? a pentium 3 is whats needed to bottleneck a 4870 1G i guessed i just imagined the performance boost in games that upgrading my cpu from a athlon 5600+ 2.8ghz to an i7 920 gave me with my 4870 my old cpu defiantly wasn't holding back my performance back in games . If its that's not a bottleneck then I don't what is.and Just want to clarify in my first post i was refering to the pentium D which is defintly bottleneck a 4670 and hold it back from its maximum performance in games a anthlon II x2 would be perfect matched with a 5570 on the other hand.
I'm about to order the 5570 from Amazon. They have it for $69.99 with a $15 mail-in rebate. Sounds like a good deal to me.
That card is garbage... you should look elsewhere. DX11 is negligible with a card like that. I picked up a 4850 a week ago for $50 dollars brand new. Unless your PSU is only like $300, I would look elsewhere. JunkTrapThat Card is NOT garbage. The card I have is considerably weaker than a 5570 and I'm playing most new releases on at least medium.
