Hi All.

Came into a bit of money, plus with Christmas right around the corner I think it is time to make an upgrade.

Was eyeballing that beauty of a screen, the Samsung Odyssey G9 49" screen.

However, my desk space is a bit limited, so my question is this: in a straight line, how wide is the monitor from edge to edge.

It says the screen is 49", but it also has a fairly serious curve, so does it end up more like 40" or something like that?

Ah right on, I must have scrolled past that. Thanks!

That monitor would be too wide for me I think. I like 21:9. Plus it leaves room for a pair of speakers on my desk.

I just downsized from 34" ultrawide + 2 1080p portrait screens to one 43" 32:10 ultrawide.

pretty happy with it. most games are fine (or I compromise for 32:9) but its freakin awesome for video editing / desktop work

@mrbojangles25

if you are purchasing it online, you may want to try to find one at a local Best Buy or someplace similar to have a look at it in use in person first. VA panels, especially the curved varieties, will sometimes have very narrow viewing angles resulting in very washed out colors towards the edges if you are not positioned at a perfect distance and height from the screen at all times.
