I'm just asking because I've recently started hooking my PC up to my 40" Samsung and it looks incredible, but I'm having a hard time finding a comfortable solution when it comes to positioning the KB and mouse. I really don't want to use a controller. What are some of the setups that you use?

I'd say just get one of those little lap-desk things. Got a platform for your mouse and keyboard, and a nice plush bottom for sitting on your lap. I use a laptop stand/lapdesk with a fan and a mousepad, for my laptop. I do need to invest in a longer HDMI cord, though, so I can actually reach the couch while doing that. But, I usually only bother plugging into the tv when I'm playing games that I use a 360 controller for.

How big is your 1440p monitor? Big enough to put on a coffee table, and sit on a couch?:P

I'd sit on a couch with that on the coffee table. Haha. Unless my office chair was super cushy. My old one was more comfortalbe than a couch. My current one... not so much.

I game on my PC and a few months ago I replaced my chair with a recliner. I use kb + mouse but my mouse space is much more limited now so I had to literally triple all my in-game sensitivities. Its very comfortable :)

When I use the computer I have plugged into my TV I use wireless mouse and keyboard. Its pretty much just a media PC iv been thinking about getting one of those remotes for it but its more than capable of running todays games too, so some gaming is done on it, mostly when im playing a story driven game that the missis likes to watch.

All of my gaming is at my desk, even when I'm playing on console.

I've come up with a couple of solutions.

my main method is to use a lazy-boy recliner and rest a plank of wood that I found lying around (maybe 2.5 feet lond and one foot wide) on the arms of the recliner on top of my lap. I then put they keyboard/mouse pad on top of the plank of wood. Comfortable as hell and allows for perfect control.

My other solution when using a couch is more straight forward: I just pull a card table up to the couch, put some pillows behind my back so I can lean back and still be right in front of the table, and just put the keyboard/mouse on top of the table. Only issue is when you have the table right up against the couch it can be hard to escape.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may just use my computer chair since I did some searching and found this. Not sure how comfortable it would be, though.

EDIT: Well after reading some of the reviews it seems that the durability would be an issue if I would do any gaming with it. Too bad really, it looks like a nice design.

I use a keyboard plugged in my USB port at the front, the cable is long enough for me to sit on the couch and enjoy fighting games, and other arcade games with it. I'm more comfortable playing fighting games, shmups (and 2D games in general) using a keyboard than a gamepad. I'm basically using it as a arcade stick.

I don't use the mouse with the keyboard wile i'm on the couch, though there are plenty of comfortable ways to do so, such as getting a wireless mouse and keyboard and positioning a small table in front of your couch.

Anything made out of plastic for the general consumer would have issues with durability if you're rough.

I've never been able to achieve it comfortably.

My $2000 office furniture is very cozy.

I have consoles for the "chillin on my couch" experience.

I haven't tried this myself, but my bro does it all the time. He uses a wireless keyboard and mouse while sitting on the couch. Keyboard on lap and get a hard mouse pad and have it next to you. Probably not the most comfortable way to play, especially shooters, but I guess it works for RPGs and other stuff.

The only thing that could make me move my PC to the living room to hook it up with the 47'', was the Haruhi movie. Since I watched that then, now the only thing that will make me is the new K-ON movie. When good 1080p rips from a good fansub group are out...

I cut myself a nice piece of wood just big enough to put my kb and m on, stained so it looks legit and I just put it in my lap. Works perfect.

I hook my PC to the family room TV every now and then. I simply put the keyboard and mouse on a TV tray.

I regularly use my pc with my 54 inch hdtv in my living room. I sit in a sofa chair and use the mouse on its big cushy armrest, works just dandy. My m/kb are wireless (G700, K800). My soundcard is connected to my home theater system. Awesome setup.

Place some hard flat board next to your lap for your mouse, keyboard on your lap and you are all set. I disgust wireless setups but for this it is very practical to have a wireless KB/M
