My rig just turned 2 at the end of Feb and its still running strong. 8800GTX, E6700 overclocked @ 3.0GHz, 4GB DDR2 800, and 2 150GB Raptors in Raid0. I would say you should be able to get at least 2 years at mid settings on your rig.viscerononly two years? This is why i kinda want to change from pc to consle

Unless you are talking about how long I said his rig would be good for. I said at least 2 years, I can't predict the future, but I would say he will probably get 4-5 years at mid settings depending how many FPS he likes. I can still run most games on high @1680x1050. Crysis runs @ 22 fps on my rig on high settings using XP64. DoWII runs perfectly smooth on high settings. I am not currently playing any graphics intensive games, so I don't know how Far Cry 2 or Fallout 3 would compare or similar graphically games. I really don't think you should make the jump to console.
Single 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, AMD Phenom X4 9550 Quad Core 2.2GHz, 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz and 500GB HD. For now I am planning on playing Warhammer Online and Empire Total war but i am also looking forward to running other games in the future for the next 2-3 years on mid-high settings. So do you think this build is good enough for that? thanxgsgdvcbsaI've got a PC that I've had for nearly 1.5 years and my SLI setup is like having a GTX 260 card, and my CPU isn't as good as the Phenom series. I've got 4GB memory and play on Windows XP with my 22" monitor (1680x1050). I can play Crysis on high settings with average 43fps. I plan on keeping this computer another year or two before I will need to actually upgrade - unless I come into some cash. That build you're looking into - I'd personally look into getting one of the Phenom II chips instead of the original Phenom chips, but even if you don't , you should see 2-3 years use out of that build for mid to high settings.

ok thanx everyone. One more question if i can change one thing from my spec what should it be? Is it better to get a GTX 280 (instead of 260) or an AMD Phenome X4 9950 Quad Core 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache (instead of the 2.2 one) thanx againgsgdvcbsa
Don't bother with any of the original Phenom's, they're all crap. Get a Phenom II, even a tri-core Phenom II will be better than any of the old Phenom's.
