That card should handle the sims 2 with no problems.Try cleaning your drivers and installing the later ones off of nvidia's site.
Blue screen is more often than not a hardware failure, you should check the tempertures of both your GPU and CPU, and unistalling and reinstalling your drivers or installing a new version will also be helpful.
